Role Description
The Systems Administrator is a key member of
the IT department responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's IT
infrastructure, systems, and networks. This role involves ensuring the
stability, security, and optimal performance of all IT systems, servers, and
services.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Design, implement,
and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers,
networking equipment, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
Monitor and manage hardware and software
resources to ensure efficient operation and scalability.
Server Management: Deploy, configure, and
maintain servers across various platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.).
Network Administration: Manage and configure
network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
System Security: Implement and maintain
security protocols and practices to safeguard IT systems and data. Conduct
regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and
maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems and data.
End-User Support: Provide technical support
to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and
up-to-date documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in systems
administration and network management.
Proficiency in configuring and managing Windows and Linux
server environments.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security
practices, and firewall configurations.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware,
Hyper-V, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud services and architectures (AWS,
Azure, etc.).
Familiarity with regulatory compliance
standards like GDPR, HIPAA, etc
